Inspiration

Image
While I was exploring inspiration for my masks, I searched through a lot of artwork related to marine animals. This particular piece of artwork I found gives me a sense of softness and gentleness. The Lacquer Art Sculpture Series 'Beneath the Sea The series 'Beneath the Sea' of lacquer art employs biomimetic design techniques, using lacquer as the medium and incorporating colors with unique Chinese aesthetic connotations. Techniques such as gold lacquer variegation, multi-color blending, and mother-of-pearl inlay are utilized to showcase the aesthetic beauty and conceptual imagery of marine life at various stages of existence. This expression reflects the artistic spirit and insights derived from personal creation, resonating with the philosophical notion within Chinese artistic ethos of 'striving continuously for self-improvement. I like how they showcase marine animals like squids and jellyfish, capturing the beauty and mystery of the underwater world in the artwork

AS a Disney fan, I went to see the Disney Centennial Exhibition. As soon as I walked into the exhibition hall, what caught my eye was the life of Walt, the founder, and the animations he created at different times. Through the various animation manuscripts and models on both sides, from Walt's first creation of Mickey Mouse and the Three Little Ones, to Winnie the Pooh and Star Wars in the mid-twentieth century, Beauty and the Beast in the early twentieth century, and then Frozen and Marvel in the twentieth century, Disney animation in the long river of time speeds forward to us to show a person after another with personality of the righteous protagonist~

Spark AR Tutorial

Image
https://youtu.be/bIekjTuxZcA?si=qPsaXM5LNaW2TQCR I have already finished 3 AR Masks,  so I am wondering if I just have one TV screen to show my masks, and how to show 3 masks at one time. I search for some tutorials on YouTube to release this effect. In this tutorial  " Spark AR - Head Shake Switch "  I found a cool way to achieve it, when people shake  their heads can change different filters.  Following this tutorial, I achieved this effect,  and I let my friend do a user test, they are very like this way.

Women in Revolt!  Art, Activism and the Women's movement in the UK. Art, Activism and the Women's movement in the UK. 1970-1990 brings together women artists under the feminist wave to use their life experiences to create art, from painting and photography to film and performance, to fight injustice. This includes taking a stand for reproductive rights, equal pay and racial equality. The exhibition features the extensive exploration of feminist art by more than 100 female artists working in the UK, focusing on how women used the so-called radical ideas and rebellious methods of the time to make valuable contributions to British culture. At a time of great socioeconomic and political change, their art helped fuel the women's liberation movement.

SAATCHI GALLERY SAATCHI GALLERY's exhibition presents three themes - THE WAY OF ALL FLESH - that invite visitors to contemplate the fleeting nature of life, the fragility of our mortal existence, and the universality of life's impermanence. EVERYDAY MONUMENTS is one of our favourite exhibitions. Showcasing artists working with everyday materials in different and innovative ways, it repurposes and revitalises materials that are otherwise taken for granted, neglected or discarded. STUDIO RESPONSE [#4 Collaborating with curators and selecting works directly from the artists' studios, the exhibition presents a diverse range of experimental artworks to the audience.

When designing a mutated lobster form, i develed into the imagery of lobsters in AIGC and found a wealth of inspiration and creativity. These AIGC images show various mutations of lobster bodies, sometomes even taking on humanoid forms, providing valuable reference for my design. In these images, i have seen some remarkable design elements, such as extra  antennate or gills on the lobster, adding a sense of mystery and strangeness.  It also led me to consider how to better integrate the mutated lobste's form with human characteristics. This has provide me a lot of think. I am considering exploring the diversity of lobster claws in my design. Mutated lobsters may have mang huge claws, much more powerful and intimidating compared to regular lobster. These enormous claws can be used not only to capture prey but also defensive tools, pushing away or breaking free from enemies. They may possess high flexibility and precise control, allowing mutated lobster beings to move and surviv...

University of Edinburgh

I visit University of Edinburgh!!!!! The University of Edinburgh is like a magic school in my mind. Let's not talk about the high international prestige of the University of Edinburgh itself. It is like the wizarding school in the Harry Potter stories, like the old campus of the Wizarding World of Hogwarts Love University, all in medieval architecture. If I was attending classes at the old campus of this university, I would feel like I was living in a wizarding school every day. I love Edinburgh!!!!!!

It's a visual reference to the octopus virtual mask, and I've watched a lot of movies trying to draw inspiration from it. The octopus character in Aquaman 2 provided me with color references, and Medusa provided me with styling references.

Call of Cthulhu Keisuke Yoneyama2020 Keisuke Yoneyama's works focus on insects and monsters and are influenced by artists such as Takayuki Taketomi and Yasushi. The overall style is retro and popular with collectors. In dealing with the esoteric subject matter of Cthulhu, Yoneyama both maintains stereotypes and challenges previously untried design elements, striving to create new works that break traditional stereotypes but do not violate them. While past Cthulhu works were dominated by creepy and incomprehensible monster figures, Yoneyama's new works introduce elements such as tentacles and wings to emphasize the delicate beauty of creatures. This transformation aims to highlight the diversity and uniqueness of Cthulhu as a creature, while giving viewers a new visual experience. In Keisuke Yoneyama's ins i find more about mutate artwork very inspired me. My project also wants to carry out some innovations in design, introduce unique elements or express the changes of Mar...

Self-introduction

Here's a video of me introducing myself that I did two years ago:https://youtu.be/7OP2DmRYuyg My name is Sun Ruoyi from Xiamen, Fujian, China. Xiamen is a seaside city in the south of China. The seaside scenery and long history provide a wonderful environment for me to grow up. I am currently studying in the UK, specialising in Digital Media Arts. As well as digital media, my interests include travelling and painting, especially visiting art exhibitions. In the world of art and digital media, I find exhibitions to be an excellent source of inspiration. Going to exhibitions not only exposes me to a variety of innovative art forms, but also expands my aesthetic and artistic understanding. I enjoy drawing inspiration from different exhibitions and exploring artists' unique perspectives on life, society and technology.
