jellyfish modeling and rigging
Jellyfish modelling was the most challenging step as I wanted to capture the softness of the jellyfish tentacles and the dynamics of the overall flow. I tried various approaches, including simulating the effect of fluid movement, but unfortunately it didn't have the effect I was hoping for. I then turned to the method of binding and animating all the bones of the tentacles.
This process did take a lot of time and effort, but I was satisfied with the end result. I spent a lot of time learning how to simulate the movement of jellyfish tentacles through online tutorials, especially by observing videos of them dancing in the water. By observing the real-life dynamics of jellyfish, I learned how to make my modelling more realistic and fluid.
I bound the bones of each tentacle one by one and used animation techniques to simulate their flow through the water. I focused on the subtle movements of each tentacle and tried to make them look vivid and natural. In adjusting the animation curves, I tried to make the movement of the jellyfish's tentacles more choreographed and graceful, as if they were dancing in the water.
Although the process was challenging, the satisfaction I felt when I finally saw my jellyfish modelling flow on the screen was unparalleled. This experience gave me a deeper understanding of dynamic modelling and animation techniques, and enhanced my artistic perception and skill level.

This is the main tutorial I learnt from. This tutorial introduces the basic structure and morphological features of jellyfish tentacles, including the number, length and thickness of the tentacles. By analysing real jellyfish pictures and videos, I have a better understanding of the arrangement and dynamics of the tentacles.
The tutorial then explains in detail how to create a basic model of a jellyfish in 3D modelling software. It covers the process from building the main structure to adding tentacles and how to adjust the shape and attitude of the tentacles to make them more realistic.
